The Last 10 Days

In Ramadan aka the Fasting Month, we have something called 'Lailatul Qadar', where in the last ten days of Ramadan, there is one 'Night of Destiny'. Read more of it here.

After my Sahur (Pre-dawn meal), I played random games on my iPhone till I fell asleep.

I dreamed that my cousins are staying over, my mum came home late and that I had to meet her to buy food for Sahur. But I forgot my wallet (or something) and I had to go back to my house.

But the lifts seem to have a problem and my neighbours and I were afraid that it would break down. Unfortunately, I was left alone because I live on the highest level.

And I was freaking out.

Fortunately, I reached my level safely and I ran to my house.
I was grappling with the keys.
Then my late grandmother appeared, all smiles, taking the keys and opening the gate for me.

In my mind, I know that it's not real and that I should probably be freaking out.

But all I could feel was relief.

I instantly hugged her once I entered.

In my mind, I was still thinking whether anyone else could see her.

It felt so good, so real.

And then my mum woke me up for morning prayer.

In my groggy state, the dream hit me and I realised that my arms were positioned in a way as though I'm hugging someone (I was sleeping sideways).

You should know what happened next.

I'm feeling sick. I don't know which part hurts exactly, or if I'm hurting at all. More like nauseous. Haiz.

In a Secret Garden marathon with my cousin but I realized that I don't really like watching the same drama twice.

I really wanna better myself.

My appearance, my attitude, my...what else is there? Well anyway, I always do things halfway, I'm fond of last-minute backouts, and I've hurt a lot of people because of that.

Now I feel like taking up driving lessons. I don't intend to actually drive, never thought of having a car. I don't want this to add to my already long list of Wasted Efforts (guitar, swimming, skating, Chinese, French...) Does anyone want to take up this challenge with me?

I really admire Gil Raim. She's a total opposite of me.

And yes, shoe-hunting was a fail (as expected). ~~FML.~~

A Good Day

I agree with the above quote, that I recently heard.

Today was a good day.

I managed to finish three interviews all in a day.

I did a lot better than I expected in a test.

I hugged someone that I have been wanting to hug for a long time, and cried in the toilet after.

I had pink dolphin, egg tofu and a mini corny dog for a late lunch.

I read that Beast's Junhyung and Kara's Hara are dating (totally unexpected but really happy for them).

I shared bubblegum with horoscope on the wrapper in class.

I discovered there are sockets at the side of the stone bench at Food Haven Café.

I had a long chat that wasn't meant to be recorded.

I had Charco's for dinner.

I can't wait for my ice-cream date tomorrow.

And I can safely say that joining DTVM was the best decision that I have made so far in my life.

I'm like Kung Fu Panda. Food motivates me.

For fangirls, when an idol hugs you, do not hug him back. Leave your hands hanging. It shows that you're not too eager thus you will get less haters from jealous fans. And from what I see, if you don't hug back, they would usually hold you longer.

Chasing, Entrapment, Escaping. Things I'm dealing with in stories and life.

I should transcribe everything first, then translate. If not it's double the work.

Never trust kids fully.

I hate mixing-up my memories. Now I don't know if the boy I kissed is the same boy I shared a stool with in the bus.

Two things that can wake me up on weekends: A Kpop song (esp Sorry Sorry or Bonamana) and smell of food (eggs...yum).

Two things that usually wake me up on weekdays: Mum's spankings/pokings/pinches/the 'hair dryer treatment'. Choose two and above.

Sometimes, the person you love the most is the hardest to love.

I always seem to think that a 'good person' has to be perfect. In any case, I am so far from that. From 'good' I mean.

You cannot like a person wholly. There must be some things that you just hate about the person. But usually you try to overlook it.

This song has been playing for the past 3564546532 hours (on iTunes and YouTube). I know it's Korean and some of you are turned off by it but please, this is something that everyone has to hear. It's a ballad, at least. Not the candy Kpop that blasts from at least one shop at every mall. Below the video is the English translation of the lyrics. Hey guys! What's up? Miss me? lol. Here to deliver a quickie.

I was doing my Filmmaking assignment when a naughty thought entered my head. No, not *that* kind of naughty. I just toyed with the idea of skipping my GEMS class cause I need to watch Amélie (the film I'm working on for the assignment) like, twice and crap a thousand words afterward. And I really want to get this printed by tonight. Submission's tomorrow. Sigh.

So as I was contemplating, I stood up for a breather and a stretch when my eyes focused on one of the dozen pictures of Kim Hyun Joong on my cupboard. And yes, I instinctively kissed the picture. And another one. And another one. And I thought I should get myself a bf before I go even more delusional. Then BAM! Another thought in my head.

Journey On Foot

As I walk to and from school every day (unless it rains), I'm beginning to see the little things in life that the usual busy person are blinded to. I reflected on a talk I attended in school this evening, 'What's a good film in the age of New Media?' by US Filmmakers Andrew Okpeana MacLean & Rashaad Ernesto Green. 'Like' this on Facebook. I would love to catch it one day.

Suddenly, something jumped near my feet. The small frog seemed to be as surprised as I was. Simultaneously, I stepped to my left as it hopped to its right. We then continued on our respective journeys. This reminded me of a similar incident this morning. I was walking along the long path at the highway, when a black butterfly flutters from my left and made a swift circle as it 'u-turns' out of my way. Sometimes I feel that animals/insects are more understanding than humans. After all, we are creatures of the earth.

When you're tired and stressed out in life, take a walk in the evening. The cool night zephyr, the darkness enveloping the surroundings, the sound of vehicles zooming past, rushing to nowhere. I feel a sense of superiority every time a vehicle slows down for me to cross. That said, I don't take my own sweet time crossing the road. To me, it's a sign of respect and gratitude for both the driver and the pedestrian when the former slows down and the latter speeds up his walking pace.

I also enjoy brushing the mimosas lightly with my shoe and watch as it slowly closes up, or stop and stare at the clovers, trying to spot a 'four-leaf' one on the way to school. I have considered making a film about 'the little joys in life' where it starts with a low-angle track of feet walking on a path. Maybe the path that I have become so familiar with.

You know, I think Filmaking was the right choice.

Had another weird kpop dream.

It started with me watching a BigBang performance. I was alone, and left early. Later while walking down the street and waiting at a traffic light, I saw Daesung waving crazily at someone behind. I turned and saw GTOP, Park Jin Young (JYP) and an Unknown Ahjussi (UA). TOP stood beside me, looking straight ahead with his lopsided arrogant smile. I immediately squeezed myself in between GTOP, so later I can boast to people that I have stood in between them before. (Yea right.)

We started crossing the road. I remember approaching the UA and asked 'dugu?' He got angry at me. JYP was right in front of my face (what was he doing with YG Peeps anyway?) Now that I think of it, maybe the UA was Papa YG. Maybe JYP wanted to 'buy' the BB fellows over. That's why UA was in a bad mood. Ok whatever.

So as fangirls flock to the idols, I followed suit and shoved my hand to G/Top (can't remember which). Then I got jealous when I saw fans hugging them. So I ran to Daesung (erm, he has less girls around. And is less intimidating among the 3. ><) Yea. I wanted to hug him, but his fans are civilized, so I shook hands again. =.= BUT, I promptly kissed his hand, and shoved mine onto his lips. I saw his surprised look and immediately walked away. I heard the fans squealed/screamed/wtv fangirls do when they're jealous and thought, 'yesss I did it!' @.@ And thennn, I regretted not doing something more. I was in a shop which oddly looks like my bedroom. I quickly grabbed a paper and a pen and headed outside. There he was, DaeDae strolling peacefully in the cool night breeze. I ran to him and called out "Daesung oppa!" I'm pretty sure he remembers me. I handed the notebook and pen over and asked for his signature. "Sign...ju sae yeo" Thankfully, he took it and was flipping through the pages in the nb, looking for a page to sign. That's when I realised it's a Super Junior nb and felt bad. "Jakkamat!" I grabbed the nb and ran back to the room. I took quite long, looking for a suitable piece of paper. When I stepped outside again, I was half expecting that he won't be there. Why would an idol wait for and unknown stranger? But voilà! There he was, pacing about. I quickly gave him the paper. I was like "Whoa...kamsahnida. You are so nice" My expression must be one full of awe and admiration. He gave a little laugh and asked why. "You waited for me". I repeated that in a slower manner and included hand gestures, to make sure he understood. Next thing I know, he was sitting down, pen in hand, speaking Malay and asking about whether he can 'tumpang' (temporarily leave) his new fridge at my place. I remembered saying 'yes!' immediately before his request actually registered in my head. I was confused and woke up in a dark room, still feeling confused. Then I decided to type all of this into my iPod touch, like I always do. Hmm...the dream may be absolute crap, but I think the fact remains that Daesung is really a darling, and he's totally my bias in BB. <3 Sent from my iPod. (lol. I ctrl+c, ctrl+v directly from the email.) ~ This is how DaeDarl looked like in my dream.

When I have the time, I'll read through my iPod Notes and maybe post some other ridiculous dreams I had here.

It's always nice to have someone over. I wasn't the only one entertained. Honestly, a good relationship does not have to be defined by blood ties, or words. And you know, whether you're a quiet or talkative person, it depends on who you're with. If you're usually quiet, but do most of the talking with a certain friend, then...you know there's something wrong somewhere. You SHOULD know. And the person too.

Relationship, friendship...why does it end with a 'ship'? Well I think that's because the key thing is that it has to be balanced. Feelings have to be mutual. If it ain't working, just let it sink, darling.

Talking about sinking, I just remembered something my mum shared when I was a little girl, and it marks the start of mind-pollution. Wanna know why the Titanic sank?

Watching Secret Garden episode 10. The good thing about watching online is that you can do some research while waiting for the videos to buffer. The profile of the actors (HYUN BIN SHARES THE SAME BIRTHDAY AS ME! 25SEP. Only 10 years older. lol), the props they use, the clothes they wear, etc.

One thing that caught my eye (and I'm surprised not anyone else) is the racing game machine Oska/JooWon has. I mean, OMG, THAT'S THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. I can't believe no one mentions this on their '10 Things I Want After Watching Secret Garden' or 'Highlights of Episode 10' list. It's so cool!!!

I have spent my holidays by GLEEfully watching a couple of dramas that made me DREAM HIGH. Now that the holidays are coming to an end, I thought I should visit SECRET GARDEN before reality sets in on April 18th.

I'm feeling very uncertain. I wonder if I made the right decision by choosing Filmaking over Broadcast Journalism as my 3rd Year Elective. I guess the only way I can NOT regret my decision is by doing my best and turn the 50% to 100%. (:

As for GEMs (General Elective Module), I will try to get Psychology and Counselling and hope that whatever I end up with won't be half as bad as I thought. (=

On the surface, it just refers to my secondary school friend Haneesah aka Honey☆, and our common interest - anything and everything Korean.

If I were to go deeper, it can be related to other secondary school friends (who are probably no longer interested in me).

If I were to go even deeper, ~~in the murky waters of the ocean~~, I may be talking about friends who put me as their 'secondary interest'. Like the ones from the above category plus some others.

As recommended by my cousin's bf, I watched the movie

CYRANO AGENCY - THE DATING GURU (Korean RomCom)

with Honey☆ at West Mall earlier today. As a budding media writer, I now see another door of opportunity for me in case my articles or films don't earn me enough bucks in the future. I shall pair this agency with the 'Breakup Service'.

I have to say though, it was really filling. Would love to try again next time (without the waffle). I didn't get to really indulge in the taste of the ice-cream itself in all its glory. It's definitely worth the money, though. Mine only costs $5.70.

Went around the mall for a bit, mostly to gift shops, cd stores and Comics Connection. Honey☆ is a total Onew/Shinee bias. I admire such a fangirl's loyalty.

So.

Back to where I started.

I tend to follow-up a meeting with a friend with an sms shortly after we part ways. I hold on dearly to the few close friends that I have. I like to think that these are the friends whom I would invite to my wedding, and look forward to their wedding invitations as well. I would save their replies in my handphone and would read them once in a (long) while, all 560 of them. Some were saved from my previous phones. So you see, I may not contact you for a very long time, but know that you are always in my thoughts.

It's a pity that these feelings may not be mutual. Oh well, their loss.

Going to the cinema seems to be a popular or common 'social activity'. I used to wonder why. Isn't it all about you connecting to the movie? It doesn't matter whether you're watching alone or with someone else. Right? Wrong.

I realised that you don't have to interact with a person to bond with him/her. It's their presence, immersing yourself into a story and going through the characters' journey with the one beside you.

More than movies, I enjoy watching dramas with my 'sister'. It's a 'well-known' fact that I have no siblings. So I'm pretty close to my cousins, and watching dramas together is one of my favourite things to do.

these dramas are a lot more fun to watch and spazz about when you have someone to do it with. And I'm thankful to my 'sister' for that.

1) My mum - Her burp stinks so bad it makes me run out of the room every time.
2) My cousin Sofea - She's so annoying sometimes. Especially when she goes on and on about her bias (Super Junior's Kyuhyun).

Had a misunderstanding.

I thought I was supposed to work today. Apparently, I went to PSA just to apply for a worker pass. =.= Gonna work on Sat. :/

My cousin and her bf picked me up in his blue car. I realised that whenever I ride in that car, it is always going somewhere and doing something new. The first time was to go to Sephora Mac for a make-up session. (:

Headed to SIM (Uni) afterward for late lunch. We actually got kinda lost (even though my cousin and her bf were ex-students there. Well, they graduated two years ago so =\ ). If I think SP is big, SIM has gotta be twice the size. o.o

On the way back I spotted a new condominium named 'Jardin'. I'm glad I can understand some French now. Jardin means 'garden'. Le Jardin.

I wonder if I should take up French II next term. As much as I enjoy learning the beautiful (sexy, more like) language, Year 3 would be one hectic year.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

For me, it was today.

I went out on a little trip on my own. Being insecure as ever, I planned beforehand in detail of what I plan to do today. From my outfit, to what bus to take, what time should I watch the movie, everything. Of course, life is such that nothing ever goes according to plan.

As such, I missed the bus, alighted at the wrong stop, missed the movie, spent an hour wandering around Marina Square aimlessly while talking to my cousin, Sofea, on the phone, and finally decided to head over to Vivo City to catch the movie at the next screening (14:15).

But no, I wasn't feeling miserable. Not yet (at least I got my hot pepper paste for my ddukbokkie! ^_^)

Have you ever been to the cinema alone?

The ticketing guy gave me the worst seat ever (I wasn't allowed to choose @.@).
A single seat, right at the back, and it's the ONLY occupied one in the whole of the left column.
One look and you know that the person is #foreveralone.

And I like how I notice details like how the Reds (inferior gnomes) are under the hot sun while the Blues (superior gnomes) are in the shade in the race scene. Or how the camera zooms out from the word 'OVER' to reveal the full word 'MOVERS'. That's what DTVM has made me. lol.

Overall, I would give it a 3.5-4*. Would not watch it again (unless it comes out free on MIO TV).

Back home, I finally tried cooking ddukbokkie (Korean spicy rice cake).

It's really filling. Gotta admit it's not really up to my expectation. Oh wells.

Since I'm on food, this is the 'gourmet ramyun' I mentioned in the previous post.

The first week of school vacation flew by like *pew!*
(forgive me for my pathetic attempt at sound effect >
Let me see if I have made my life worthwhile then...

1) I started working on my 1000-piece puzzle again with renewed hope. Still working on it.
2) I vacuumed and mopped the house twice, changed bedsheets, did random cleaning, folded clothes, cooked...just a ton of housework.
3) Cooked 'gourmet ramyun'. Not bad for a first try...
4) Made a birthday girl happy by fueling her love for a certain curly-haired filthy-rich Korean lad...
5) Found a new interest in another Asian guy (Jay Chou)
6) Befriended a balloon. Not just any balloon. It's a 'Feel Better Soon' Tweety.
7) Accompanied my grandmother to the hospital for her appointments , twice. (Met a nice lady with Bonamana ringtone while I'm there.)
8) Stared out the window watching life through the consistent drizzle while listening to ballads alone in the cab. Gotta love that.
9) Watched a French movie - Amelie. I kinda see myself as the eccentric character. Having unfulfilled desires and being an extreme introvert.
10) Met a *super cute* guy while having dinner @ Pastamania. Too bad he was serving me, not dining with me.
11) Had a nice long chat with a good old friend, who is one of the very few 'good old friends' that I have.
12) Shared the cost of a 64GB 3G iPad with my parents, as an advanced birthday present for my mum. I use it (a lot) more than her though. Wee~
13) Got a carebear from my grandmum. <3
14) Watched Haeundae thrice, cried twice. I recommend this movie to everyone. It's about Tsunami hitting S.Korea. It makes me reflect deeply on my life and inspires me to be a better person. Go watch it.
16) Pre-ordered U-Kiss First Kiss Concert DVD. It's the first and last full three-hour concert with all the original seven members. (':
15) Started blogging again. I'm a failed writer. I drive away my readers. I hope by some miracle they will visit my rusty blog again, and see that I've updated.

1) Although Love Ya is an AWESOME song and could probably win many more awards, they stopped promotional activities abruptly.

2) The song 'Forever' on their new album sounds like they are missing us TripleS...which means they are missing us when we were together...when THEY were together.

3) The album title itself - DESTINATION. Doesn't it hint that they have reached their destination? And that will be the last group album?

4) The X-Concert. 'X'. Another indication.

5) Not to mention their tears. PARK JUNG MIN actually cried buckets.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed by the whole issue. They might continue their group activities but, what are the chances?

Just came back from Genting Highlands two days ago.

Oh, I sprained my knee while standing in the bus on the way to Orchard last week for a haircut.
I mean, how is that even possible??
I was alone and was about to cry but could only release my tears 3hrs later.
In the comfort of my room.
Which was not really comfortable due to the agonizing pain in my left knee.
And guess what?

I have the U-Kiss events for the next two days.
Went to the doc's in the morning, praying that I won't have to amputate my leg.
Thank gawd not.
I nearly cancelled my date with Pearline to meet our idols U-Kiss.
Luckily my head was still functioning - I would die if I didn't go.

Took some pix and vidz of the IMM Fanmeet and St James Showcase.
I shook hands with 5 out of 7 of them.
But I wasn't satisfied.
And there's nothing else I could do.
Now I'm just hoping and praying that they'll be back for a full 3-hour concert.

Time to reflect on my life.

A very eventful day.

A day when...

1) My 'Seoulmate' Sofea celebrates her birthday, which coincides with her New South Wales English Competition and her Singapore Youth Festival Choir Competition. And I didn't give my last wishes.

2) I was supposed to interview my deputy principal, but he couldn't make it as he was sick. And I missed my chance meeting a great person.

3) I was in-charge of the registration counter during my course's welcome party for my juniors. And I failed at my role as things got out of hand.

4) I met my secondary school junior at the party, who surprised me with her hug. And I remembered a certain someone from my secondary school who was my 'hugging partner'.

5) I walked in the heavy rain after the party, heading home alone. And silently prayed that I won't get struck by lightning.

6) I had dinner at CoffeeBean with my parents, surrounded with lovebirds. And I wonder whether I would ever be able to experience that.

7) I received an email from my lecturer saying that my work will be put up on a website. And I remembered a certain secondary school teacher who wished to see my writings published.

8) I was tagged in old pictures of mine on facebook, by a friend who's very far away yet close in my heart. And I wonder if I have more than one of such friends.

9) Kim Hyung Joon's Music High had it's special broadcast, in celebration of it's first anniversary. And I wonder when I'll get my Gorealra software so that I can watch DJ Joon, instead of just listening to his voice.

10) I typed all these with tears streaming down my face. And I think my life is just right, as it is.

It's only 10.30 in the morning but I feel like it's been a long day.

People have always asked me what it feels like to be an only child.
Lonely? Yes, at times.
Most of the time I'm preoccupied with fangirling, YouTubing, FaceBooking, Twittering and so on.

Came back from my aunt's place earlier this morning.
Was supposed to come back last night.
As usual, I felt heavy to leave the house.
I never fail to sleepover there every possible holiday.

Last night after the last minute change of plans (of going home), my girl asked me what I like most about staying over.
I thought for a while and said, "the company".
She kept mum after hearing my reply and we were lost in our own thoughts in the comfortable silence.

I love my parents a lot. Really. I won't say "they are the BEST parents in the world" cause that's just too cliché and is plain bullshit. I mean c'mon, how many parents do YOU have? How would you know if your's is the best? Ok whatever.

I know I hurt my mum's feelings yesterday when I sms-ed her to say that I'm not coming back.
Called her numerous times and she refused to pick up her phone.
I don't regret my decision though.
Had a 'Friday Night Karaoke Party' to celebrate my 'extended stay'.

This morning when I left, my kids were still in their bed.
Mummy (that's what I call my aunt) sent me to the bus-stop with the little one.
I felt bitter.

My grandfather greeted me once I set foot in the house.
My parents were out market-ing.
Although I've been staying over umpteen times, despair enshrouded me and I cried myself to sleep.
The incessant drizzle outside complemented my mood.

I woke up an hour later and my parents were still nowhere to be seen.
Called my mum and there was still no answer.
That's exactly what I mean when I answered my girl's question last night.

I feel fortunate to be loved by people around me.
There are things lacking here and there, but it's the people who matter the most.
Watched 'Fever Pitch' two days ago and one line is stuck in my head.

Wise words from a kid - probably no more than 12yo. It's so true. No matter how much you love an item, a game, a plant, or anything at all, only human (well, and animals) can reciprocate your love.

There were a lot of 'high-points' throughout the day (Pictionary, manageable papers...etc.) but right now, I'm at my lowest.

MAJOR COL* SESSION.

It was the end of a couple (or more?) of things for me today.

First, I can't believe that my French (General Elective Module) class is over. I've met wonderful people like Huiyi, Nia, Yinxiu and Shahirah. Hope we can keep in touch...FB & MSN don't count. ><

Then, another goodbye to my Chinese (Foreign Language Programme) class. I'm seriously gonna miss it. Xiao Laoshi, Fangfang (fellow Korean fangirl!) and everyone else for making the class enjoyable and making me stay awake with all the random comments, correcting Xiao Laoshi's English...thanks guys.

I have to sort out my feelings.
A lot is going on in my life, and I finally resort to my usual method of de-stressing - crying in the toilet.
I takes a hell lot of determination not to burst into tears in the middle of the street as I walk home in the rain.
As I'm typing now, a towel draped over my shoulder, hair wet and tangled, I'm struggling to come up with words to express my feelings.
Not a good thing for a 'creative writing' student.
Huh.

You know, sometimes you feel that you have a close friend whom you can share your tears and laughter with?
But when you're actually in need of someone, that person comes to mind but you can never pick up the phone to call the person?
Why is that so?
To me, I would feel that I would only burden the person with the depressing situation I'm in.
Or I would think that the person doesn't actually care.
How does that affect the relationship between the two?
I don't know.
It's been a while since I've heard from you...

This actually helps...my tears are drying, my sniffing has ceased...

Today was the first time I walked home from school.
I've been wanting to do so for months, but only now I finally stop making excuses to myself and putting my words into action.
It was quite a pleasant walk.
The weather's on my side, sunny and breezy.
The trees, green fields, education institutions, a 1001 vehicles zooming along the road were some scenes that accompanied me on my journey home on foot.
Thanks to my trusty iPod touch, I could track the duration with the stopwatch, and have my favourite SS501 tunes ringing in my ears. Listened to 6 out of 8 songs in my On-The-Go playlist. 'On-The-Go' is right. ;P
Took only 23:31.1 min.
Last but not least, tyvm to my FitFlops for giving me the motivation to start walking.
Every step counts, and I'm glad I'm counting it with you. (:

Today had been a pleasant day.
The evening took a downturn.

Haneesah, a secondary schoolmate of mine, came over to my house.
It's been months since we last met.
It was her second time at my house.
The first was the last day of my O-level paper last year...
She's taking it this year.

We didn't do anything much...
Just general catching-up on each other's lives.
She introduced me a webbie where I can download songs.
It reminded of the time when Shafinah introduced me Limewire, a couple of years back.

Honeystar also got me hooked on Boys Over Flowers.
Heard a lot about it before, but didn't really get around to watching it.
This reminded me of the time when my cousin, Shareena, got me addicted on Nodame Cantabile.
The lead actress of the two shows look very similar.

We pretty much chill around...
Reminiscing the past, while
hoping the best for the future.

She left me a gift before she went home.
It was an artistic handmade frame, using the picture we took during Speech Day last year.
The same picture I put as her contact picture in my phone.
An advanced birthday present.

I was immensely happy and grateful but
deep down inside,
I also felt bad.

I had forgotten her birthday.
I'm hopeless at remembering the dates.
& I know that I have disappointed some people,
due to my lack of...(whatever word that fits).

Last Saturday, while having my hair done at the salon, I was browsing through a magazine when I chanced upon a small article at the bottom right-hand corner of the left page.

Yea.
It was about friendship.

It was then, that I decided to change my plans for the following week (this week, that is).
I was supposed to stay over at my aunt's place for another week.
Instead, I made plans to meet up with my friends.
Some worked out, some didn't.

Or other friends.
Or just other plans.

I'm just glad that today turned out well.
Will be tutoring my two cousins tomorrow.
Can't wait to play Snap with Sofyann and Sofea during the break.
And playing with little Sophie.

Went out from 0930-2230 yesterday.
Orchard -> Plaza Singapura -> Rendezvous Hotel -> Raffles City
Walked the whole way! :O :D =.=

First to Jo's place, where I did 'soft' rebonding. 3 hours there.
Then to Catherine's. Mum collected her Lancome stuff.
After which, we headed across to Orchard Central with one thing in mind: Ride all the way up the super outdoor escalator.
It was okay.

Went to Plaza Singapura afterwards.
Fortunately the weather wasn't so hot.
So can tahan.
lol.

Bought birthday gifts for all my beloved fellow September babies.
I only bought myself 2 Aussino bath sheets in Daffodil-yellow and Mulberry-purple and a matching-necklace-and-bracelet set from Marks&Spencer for Raya.

Left the place at 6 and head down to Rendezvous Hotel for our Ramadhan Buffet.
& omg I met Cikgu Murad! My malay teacher-advisor-comedian-'grandfather' from my previous secondary school.
Finally I get to match faces with all the names he mentioned during his lessons. Hah!
Dinner itself wasn't great. :/
The $32 wasn't worth it for my part cause' I only had one course(?).

On to Raffles City.
By then I'm like totally tired from walking.
Only the thought of 'Fried Mars Bars' from Chippy kept me going. heez~
Some shops were already closing.
Stepped inside Dorothy Perkins to have a looksie.
Less than 5min later the announcement came on for us to leave. vth =.=

Head down to basement where we bought Burger King for our pre-dawn meal and my much-awaited FriedMarsBars from Chippy. yumm~

Yea so that's how my Saturday flew past.

Got my LG Crystal yesterday(150809').
It was only 6 months(070209') since I got my LG KS360, and only 2 months(160609') since I got my LG Viewty (which I didn't use at all and am now selling it to my aunt).

I feel bad for two reasons.

1) I immediately chuck my KS360 aside to make way for my Crystal.
2) I have not even used my Viewty and already selling it.

It's been a year since my paternal grandmother passed...
I still remember that day.
The day started out as always...
I was in the usual hurry to go to school.
Said goodbye to her, was about to leave her room, turned back at gave her a kiss on the cheek.
I'm glad I did.
During recess when 2 of my best buddies in school said "Hey, isn't that your mother?", I knew something was wrong.
In fact, I saw it coming, all along.
My grandmother hasn't been feeling well the past week.
Her health was rapidly deteriorating.
It was only a matter of time.

Things were not always good between the two of us.
Nevertheless, she was the one who had taken care of me when my parents are working.
There were bitter moments and sweet memories as well.
She had been with me all my life.
I miss you,
we all do.

Today, going home from school, I chanced upon my neighbour in the lift.
A chinese lady.
She said, "It has been a year since your grandmother passed, hasn't it?"
I just smiled and nodded.
It's nice to know that even an 'outsider' remembers it.
But then again, "neighbours are your closest relatives". (:

My paternal grandfather still lives with me.
I should always treasure the time spent with him.
Because some people are not as fortunate as I am.

There are a lot of life's lessons that I have yet to learn.
A lot about life, a little about love...

People always say that you would only learn these lessons through experience.
To me, you can learn it just by observing.
Observing the people who go through it, learning from their mistakes.
BUT, you could only fully comprehend it if you go through it your own.

Nevermind.

Love to me is something really deep, a mutual affection(?) between two people.
People in love are called lovers. (duh?)
Well, some (most, actually) teenage couples are often quick to 'declare their love' for the other.
That's not love. I don't think that's love.
What they have is a strong liking for each other, but is not even on the surface of love.

Love has many levels.
Mentally, emotionally, physically, if you're meant to be, you're meant to be.
You would give up your life for your partner.

I always create scenes in my mind.
Involving people I know, mostly.
Situations that I wish would happen though I know they never will.

BTW,
Before you get that idea, no, I'm not being emo.
Just...reflecting on life.

Back to love.
You know how you think you are over *it* but deep down inside you know that you're actually not?

Hate it, don't you?
Well, 2006 was a year of mind mysteries and lost friendships.
In more ways than one.

A simple friendship brought abruptly to an end due to a silly girl's imagination and action.
Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.

That was one.
The other's a complete mystery.
I can't even specifically mark the start of end of it.
Except for that one incident, of course...
I was so happy, my head could burst.

But you know what?
Whatever sh!t that happens in your life, only the lesson remains.
So, wipe your tears hide your frown, never let life bring you down.

Spent two hours in the toilet this morning, reading 'I Wish Someone Were Waiting for Me Somewhere' and finally finished it.

It was okay.

The book was divided into two parts.
The first was a collection of stories under 'I Wish Someone Were Waiting for Me Somewhere' ,
while the second part was a story of its own, 'Someone I Loved'.

It was translated from its original french copy, so there were times when I was confused with the 'English accent' and stuff...

Won't go into details, you can Google it if you want.

I'm giving it a 3*-3.5* rating because the stories do not 'touch' me much. I wasn't moved to tears and barely laughed.

I like the style of writing, though. Limited flowery language, a lot of dialogues, honest & straight-to-the-point. Modern, if you must.

Yup, gonna move on to other books now...

I'm bringing satay...

So then I started picking up the other books on the rack and read a few lines to see if it interests me.
Was in a dilemma for a while. Gotta admit that I was tempted to buy 4 books.
Finally settled on 'The Diary of Anne Frank'. Heard so much about it, might as well read it once and for all.
Felt a bit like a nerd actually, rooting around for books in the middle of an "international entertainment retail chain" with blasting music around me.
Oh well, who cares? %)

@ 6pm we left for Vivo...where we met my mum.
Dined at Garuda Padang Cuisine (first time there, will definitely come back again :D)
Wanted to go home straight actually...
Luckily we came to our senses. C'mon lah, since we're (still) out might as well SHOP (more)!
So...went to Singtel.
I recontract my plan(?) and got myself an LG Viewty in baby p!nk for $48 (u.p. $419).

Best parts(surprisingly plural) of the day:

1) Before school. Had DT discussion with Mich & Lea. No, that's not actually the best part. Cause' I found out that I've been researching the wrong thing. The best part was I have now found a sanctuary in the school. Just like my beloved blue table back in CTSS. I no longer wonder where the hell did people buy those drinks from.

2) In the library during lunch. Spent a great part laughing like mad for no apparent reason in the QUIET ZONE with Mich. Yes, get lost Sam.

Eyy...nothing much happened today but at the end of the 'Writing Across Media Platforms' we hadta write an essay on 'The Most Powerful Word'.

Here's mine:

To me, the most powerful word is 'Hello'. I believe that if everyone in this world says 'hello' often to anyone at all, we can change the world. Most of us nowadays are caught up with our own world, our busy lifestyle. Saying 'hello' is a form of greeting, yet not many people do so. By saying 'hello', it means that we acknowledge the presence of others. It may be a simple word, one of the first few words that a child utters as he learns to speak but it can actually make a person's day. I should know. Sometimes, I feel like the people around me are not aware of my presence. However, the person that I least expect to speak to me suddenly come up to me and says hello. Since then, whenever I feel lonely or isolated I would remember the kind soul who greeted me when I least expect it and that would bring a smile to my face.

Now why do I say that saying 'hello' can change the world? Well, saying 'hello' is not only a form of salutation but it can also lead to meaningful conversations and such. When one says 'hello' at a start of a conversation, he/she would sound more approachable and open. It may not change the world literally, but it would definitely be a good start to a potentially heated argument, thus avoiding it and talk it out a more civilised manner.

Another thing if you have not realised is that it is impossible to say 'hello' without smiling. Unless of course you're a cold, cold person. This is why I said that saying 'hello' can make someone's day. Even if you're at your lowest point, by reciprocating the greeting a smile would actually lit up your face.

Saying 'hello' is not only limited to people whom you know. You can also greet strangers on the street. Of course you don't expect all of them to greet you back but when they do, you will get a pleasant feeling which warms your heart.

So start saying 'hello!' and you will lead a happier lifestyle! =D

on Saturday I went to Orchard Road for my monthly hair treatment, shopped, then cabbed to Anchor Point. Had early dinner @ Secret Recipe then to Ikea to buy some kitchen stuff.
Was out frm morning till night. But damnn syiok lah I tell you...shopping. Ahh...lurrrve the smell of new stuff... ^^

Sunday went to this tailor @ Geylang to send some materials for Hari Raya outfits. Never too early. Had early dinner @ Hawa then had 'dessert' @ this shop opposite. =.= A sort of family outing. YAH YAH YAH had another GR8 day in SP! :D
Well, not really-really in SP lah(coz were there for a short time only) but what I meant was today's FOP activity.
Flag-Day! +DDD
In support of the President's Challenge 2009!

Well, this was the second time I participated in Flag-Day. The first was last year and I HAD A GREAT TIME THAT TIME TOO. =D So I can say that I was kinda looking fwd to today luhh.

I woke up at 5am, went out at 6am then took 188 all the way to CCK INT/MRT(thank gawd there's a straight bus frm my house. I'm nt streetsmart, just so u noe. XD), reached just a lil' aft 7am. Partnered with Michelle(but each at one end of the street) then started collecting $$$. My position was at a pathway junction in between Lot1/MRT/INT and condominiums. So most of the donors(?) were occupants(?) from the condo. Baha. Ok luhh...I have no idea why but when it comes to this kind of activity, all my SHYNESS & PAISEH-NESS GONE lehh. Bcm V V thick-skinned. Must one ah if not how to get $ right?? So I approached most of the passer-bys. I only ignore(?) pri sch students and V V old elderly(ok that's kinda wrg but WTV) who look like they need the $$ themselves. Took an hour break frm 9am++ to 10am++. Had strawberry milkshakes with M at Mac. Then we went to the other side of Lot1. I was then 'stationed' at a longlong path leading from the traffic light to a HDB estate(?). Yea. By 12pm++ I had already run-out of stickers so decided to CALL IT A DAY. My tin was relatively heavy luhh but not yet full. No more stickers so FGT IT LAHH. Met up w M then MRT'd back to SP. Lucky for me, she knows the way back V well so no worries there. +) Ehh...got kinda lost in the campus tryna find Block21. =.= When we reached the room we're supposed to report to(like, FINALAYY) guess WHAT?! We can only enter @ 3 and it was only 2++. WTH. Slacked/stoned till 3 thennn went back to the room with M and Luke.
